French electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company Asteelflash has announced the acquisition of the American EMS company, Catalyst Manufacturing Services Inc., based on the East Coast of the United States and in Mexico.

Asteelflash is already established on the west coast of the United States, and this acquisition extends its presence in North America, adding three production sites in Owego (New York), Raleigh (North Carolina) and Tijuana (Mexico).

Dow Corning is a global leader in silicones and innovative silicon-based technology and the agreement will provide Air Products with access to significant silane volume to meet the present and future needs of its global customers, as well as the future growth of the electronics and solar industry.

Global electronics manufacturing services company Sanmina-SCI Corporation today reported financial results for the fourth quarter and year ending 1 October 2011.

Global electronics manufacturing services company Sanmina-SCI Corporation today reported financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended 1 October 2011.

The San Jose, California headquartered company reported revenue for the fourth quarter of $1.70 billion, compared to $1.67 billion in the prior quarter and $1.69 billion for the same period of fiscal 2010.

Revenue for the year ended 1 October 2011 was $6.60 billion, up 4.5 percent compared to $6.32 billion for the fiscal year ended 2 October 2010.

Mixed news on the economic front again today, with the release of index figures for industrial production and prices, and consumer prices for March.

Industrial production increased 0.8 percent in March and rose at an annual rate of 6.0 percent for the first quarter as a whole. Manufacturing output increased 0.7 percent in March, its fourth consecutive month of strong expansion, producing an annual rate of 9.1 percent for the first quarter.

There are strong and frequent motivations for changing a firm’s business model, but managing the implementation process is the most critical success factor.

“I’m not even sure I can say exactly what our business model is, let alone tell you whether it is the right one to allow our business to grow.” That was the response made recently by a senior executive in an electronics company to a question asked by one of the members of our consulting team about his firm’s business model. Today’s first source of answers, Wikipedia, suggests that the business model is essentially all-encompassing: “A business model describes the rationale of how an organization creates, delivers, and captures value...”

CRH is a global supplier of metal seat structures and mechanisms and is recognized for its high level of quality. CRH's headquarters and main development facilities are based in Solingen, Germany.

UK-based energy services group Hunting is to buy US electronics company Innova-Extel for $125 million to boost its well construction unit, it has been announced.

London-based Hunting, whose equipment is used in the construction and maintenance of oil and gas wells, is also seeking further purchases in order to transform into a higher margin, higher growth business.
