Pratt Industries opens new corrugated box plant in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett today cut the ribbon on Pratt Industries' new corrugated box plant in Lehigh County.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett today cut the ribbon on Pratt Industries' new corrugated box plant, a facility that will bring at least 125 new jobs to Lehigh County.

The company established the new plant in Macungie to service its northeast United States customers. It will receive rolls of 100-percent recycled paper to convert into boxes and customized point-of-sale materials.

Continental Tire the Americas held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new plant in Sumter, South Carolina today.

Continental Tire the Americas held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new plant in Sumter, South Carolina today.

Attended by state and local governmental officials, the ceremony marked the beginning of the construction process, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.

By early 2014, the plant will manufacture passenger and light truck tires to meet the increasing demand for Continental and General brand tires from both aftermarket business and automotive manufacturers.

SunPower Corp, a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels and solar systems, is set to expand with a major new corporate operations center in Austin, Texas.

SunPower Corp, a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels and solar systems, is set to expand with a major new corporate operations center in Austin, Texas.

The company announced today the receipt of a $2.5 million investment from the Texas Enterprise Fund and a $900,000 grant from the City of Austin. The new center will create 450 jobs in the region over the next four years, beginning with 115 jobs in 2011.
